RCM Violin Technique, Etudes, and Musicianship Levels Prep-2

The first of three Technique, Etudes, and Musicianship books in The Royal Conservatory's Violin Series, 2021 Edition, covering the Preparatory level through Level 2. It introduces progressive technical requirements that relate directly to the included etudes.

Commissioned and arranged etudes use balanced key and time signatures and a step-by-step approach to technique. Scales grow from one to two octaves, from major to harmonic and melodic minor, with basic double-stop exercises, the foundations of shifting to third position, and a move from simple to compound time. Duets are included for teacher support and performance. The book also builds elementary musicianship through sight reading and ear exercises such as interval and chord identification, clapbacks, and playbacks.
